Whenever I am in on my computer in Winow Mail and I try to send an email to
myself it will show up as sent but never goes into my in box. How can I have
it so that it does go into my inbox ?

Are they going into any other folder?
Are you sending to the correct address, i.e. no typo in your address book?
Have you checked any junk folder on your ISP web site for your account?

I am sending it to the correct address, checked junk mail but it is not
there, I just want to "receive" it in my in box as I would if someone had
sent me an email.

Obviously that's what you want, but it is going somewhere else?

Did you go to your ISP website and check the online junk folder there too?

Checked there and nothing there either ??
I do end up seeing it in my sent items but not in my inbox.

You're having the same problem as many others using Vista Windows mail
system. There're probably not sending at all & that's why you don't see them
in you in box. I've just about given up & trying to "fix" it until Microsoft
comes out with something. In the mean time I'll just have to stick with my
desk top using Outlook Express.

Thank you for your respose ! They definitely are sending because they show up as sent but just never in the inbox....awwww the joy of new products !!

Catherine,

You might also try setting the logging on for email and see if anything
there gives a clue.

What is the domain after the @ symbol? If you are sending to
your own @gmail.com address, that is a known Gmail 'feature'.

Mine was showing a copy in the sent folder & nothing was going out. Now
nothing goes in the sent folder but it doesn't go out either. Occasionally
it will download some mail when it feels like it.

Tools | Junk Mail Options | Blocked Senders
Make sure you did not accidently get put on the list.

maybe your isp isblocking your own mail thinking that it is spam. it happens
if your domain or mail id is listed in spamcop or other black lists. try
sending the same mail to another domain (yahoo or hotmail or gmail) and see
if it reaches there. if it does then you should contact your isp

I don't receive any emails that I post to any of my Yahoogroups lists or any
posts I try to send to myself. They do not show up anywhere

Windows Mail won't connect to Yahoo unless you have a premium
Yahoo account:

<http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/original/mailplus/pop/pop-35.html>

Here's a help file that should help connect to peoplepc.com, but I don't
have the software needed to read it:

http://meetings.uiuonline.org/windowsmail_mail_vista.doc

Some Windows Mail problems cause outgoing mail to stay in the
Outbox, instead of going out, so you might check there.

Finally, some internet providers don't let their users send email to
themselves.

I frequently receive email to myself in the Delete folder; why I don't know.
Did you look there?
I also check my mail on Web mail and sometimes find a genuine message in the
spam folder.
Pays to check!
