When attempting to download or send email, I get the
following error:

The connection to the server has failed.
Account: 'thewho1', Server: 'mail.optonline.net',
Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error:
10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

and

The connection to the server has failed.
Account: 'thewho1', Server: 'mail.optonline.net',
Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error:
10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Any solution?

Open a command prompt and see if you can ping the server by using the ping
mail.optonline.net command
Are you able to connect to the internet ?
Do you have a vallid connection ?

Really sounds like your email server is out of service, get
a better ISP.

Bob

You may have a corrupted main identity in your e-mail
client. Contact your ISP and have them walk you through
the setup for your account.
