Email will not come thru to Outlook express

I can send email through outlook express but cannot receive email. If I log
in to my server directly (cox.net) I can read the emails there but they do
not come through to Outlook express. I emptied the trash folder on the
server. I deleted all the emails on the server. Then I sent a test email.
It went to cox.net just fine but woould not come through to Outlook express.
This problem started today and up to now everything worked fine. No error
messages.
 
Sorry, I made a mistake - it is NOT Outlook express, it is Windows mail.
Email will not come through. I need to go to Cox.net to log in and read my
mail. Can anyone help me?
 
When you go to Tools, Send & Receive, Receive All, does Windows Mail
go through the motions of contacting the server? If not, go to Tools,
Accounts, select that account, Properties. On the General tab, make sure
the box for "Include this account..." is checked.
 
Thank you for your help. Yes, that box was already checked, and now for
whatever reason (a Christmas miracle?) everything is working normally again.
I honestly did not change a thing. Thanks again.
