email to my contact and asked

I sent an email to my contact and asked him if he had originated these
2
IM's. His answer was that he had not, and that many of his other
contacts had reported the same thing happening to them. He suspects
either he has a virus which is exploiting his Messenger account, or
someone has hacked into his account and is using it.

The exact same thing happened to me this morning. I had an IM from my
husband and like a dummy clicked on it. Well I soon figured out I was
spammed. It sent the same message to my sister and now she is having the
same problems, getting spammed and MSN signing onto "another computer".
There is a virus or hacker out there and this needs to be plugged up NOW!
How do we contact MS to get this stopped?

Jonathan,

Thank you for pointing out that these things have been around for nearly a
decade, it is something that i have only experienced over the last couple of
months where my contacts have been getting links to distastful websites which
as being female i am not pleased at all with. I have been an msn user for
years now and never had this happen before. Can you confirm to me that i
have to accept this as the 'norm'? Or do i have to delete my existing
account with msn?

Regards
