Email signature image quality bad

I am trying to create a digital letterhead for my company's email messages.
I created the "footer" and saved it as a jpg. I then went into Word to add
it to my list of signatures. This however changed the size and also degraded
the quality of the image. Anyone know a way around this, or perhaps a better
way of making a template like this?

I have ran into this same issue with image quality when using JPEGs for the
image in email signatures. I have found when using the GIF format the
distortion does not occur.

Also, in the past I have used Microsoft Publisher 2003 to create email forms
that use images. I have had pretty good turn outs using Publisher for email
forms.

Hope this helps!

Thank you! It definitely does work better as a gif. Now I have another
problem: when I open a new message, the image shows up fine but there is a a
box with a red x below it. I can click on this box to delete it, but I don't
know where it came from, and when I preview the signature in
Tools/Options/Mail Format it looks as it should. When I right-click on it
and go to Properties, it says the source is cid:162510417@25072006-33F6. Any
idea what could be the cause of this?

Very good question!

I am not sure of the cause of this displaying like this. I know in the past
it has displayed as a red X (but the image retains in the signature if you
send) when the computer that you are using to send the email is not set to
32bit color for the display. This would only occur if the image in the
signature has more colors than the image can display. (at least that is what
i feel the issue is)

Ceratinly nothing to be concerned about as long as the image sends like
normal when you compose and send a new email.

Have a great day!

I was able to avoid the red x in changing some facets of the image's "mode"
in Photoshop, but that then degraded the quality. So confusing! Thank you
for all your help!
