Why does the received mail show the incorrect time? My clock is set in the
correct timed zone.

I'm having the same problem. Any ideas please?

Your PC is set for the Pacific Time zone. I can't tell where you
are connecting from.

Why do you think your received mail has an incorrect time stamp?

Gary

I'm in the UK. My PCs time is set to GMT+1, which is our daylight saving
time. All times are correct, clock displays etc EXCEPT for Windows Mail
receipt times, which are incorrect, one hour ahead of the PC's time.

It seems that the Windows Mail time is different to the PC's time, can I
change the Mail time setting?

Hope that explains things better.

Mike

I see you are posting through the web-based server rather than
the NNTP news server. The web server time-stamps its own time
zone (Pacific) rather than the time zone of the originator.

WinMail gets its basic time information from your PC's clock.
WinMail takes the information in a received message's top-most
"Received:" header (which was put their by your ISP's mail server),
converts it to your time zone, and then displays it as the "Received"
date and time.

If all received messages are off by one hour, this is typically due to
either your PC or your ISP's mail server not having the correct time zone.

Do a Ctrl-F3 to look at the "Received:" time stamps of a message.
I bet your ISP's mail server time is the guilty one.

you are correct, my ISP time is one hour ahead. But how do I change it?

Thanks for your help.

All you can do is call or email your ISP and point out the discrepancy
to them.
