email problem using Outlook as email client

I have been searching for a solution to an email problem i have encountered. I use Outlook XP as my email client, and my email accounmt is with AT&T worldnet serviced; when I try to sene email, I receiv e this error message: sending reported error 0x800ccc7D. Your outgoing SMTP does not support secure connections. If secure connections have worked in the past, please contact your serivce administrator or Internet service provider.'
I have tried chatting w/ AT&T support and they are now directing me to Microsoft newsgroup for addition al help.

Check whether SPA is unchecked for your account;
Toole-> E-mail Accounts-> button Next-> button Change
