Email notification help driving me nuts

ok my friend has logged onto my account in windows xp and now at the
start screen it shows his unread email count and not mine. i am looking

at getting rid of this, i found many links saying go to the registry
but when i try to do that it says access to the registry is disabled by

administrator..i dont know. i just want it to show my unread email
count again that would be wonderful thanks for any help. im not that
familiar with this registry so dumb talk would be beneficial thanks
