Email Notification at Startup

I am using Windows XP MCE 2005. When I boot up my PC the Windows login screen
notifies me that I have 1 unread email message in a particular account - but
when I check that web-based account there are in fact NO messages. How can I
correct this? I should explain that the account is not my main account i.e. not
the account provided by my ISP.

TweakUI can fix this (about half way down the page):

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

If you download that and run it, there's an option down the bottom called
repair, then a sub option called repair unread mail count.

likely that whatever
was noted as an email,
was deleted
upon transmittal, maybe due
to the

Hi

You can get rid of that message:

Download TweakUI from
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx and
when installed go to Programs>Powertoys for Windows XP>Tweak UI - then go
to Logon>Unread Mail - disable it in the right hand pane.

Otherwise the Unread Mail message can be disabled via the Registry -
navigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail\[Youremailaddress]
- double click on 'MessageCount' - in the right hand pane - and change
the value to 0(Zero).
