Oh dear!!!! I have Outlook 2003 and was intending to do exactly that. Can
you/anyone confirm that your description applies to even that version?
If so, do you have a recommendation for a suitable third party application
which will handle HTML emails as per the OP description?
Many thanks

Well, as mentioned in my prior post, do you have Word or not? If you have
word then try its Mailmerge. Remember that you are using Mailmerge to
manage a list of recipients and that EACH recipient gets a separate copy of
your mail, so for N recipients of your mailing list there will be N separate
copies of the same e-mail sent out through Outlook. The problem with that
is some ISP's block how many mail sessions you can have in a minute, like
only 10 mail sessions. They may also block how many messages you can send
in a minute. The receiving domain may auto-tag your mails as spam if you
send many multiple copies of the same message to their domain (i.e., they
see the same message flooding their mail server sent to different recipients
on their domain).
I don't bulk mail so I've had little need other than the occasional Google
search when someone asks about them, but you do the Google search yourself.
The only one that I remember doing any reading on was something called
Mailcast, as I recall, but I don't know if it even exists anymore.
