Email Links open share LAN Mydocuments folder

I have an client with a strange problem. If he sends an email (outlook 2003
with all updates installed) that has a web link (std www.***.com) and the
recipient (someone on his lan) replies to the message and when he receives
the reply and clicks on the same web link it opens the shared My Documents
folder on the senders PC. The original message opens the web page when the
link is clicked.

It takes you to the web site.
I will be going to the client this morning to check it out.

I have now talked to a few who say if mail is sent as HTML the reply comes
back as text and the code is strange with a message that extra line breaks
have been removed and it will not convert back to HTML. The 2nd person says
if they click a link it opens Explorer. Very strange and considering it
opens the senders shared Document folder I am very concerned about security.

Additional Info
Client's Outlook 2003 was set to Text Only mail. When I changed it back to
HTML problem went away. This is quite disconcerting as access to shared
folders inadvertently cannot be good from a security or privacy standpoint.
