Email is not MAPI compliant

I'm trying to send an email through our accounting software program
(Quickbooks - Australia) and I get the below error message. I have only got
this error message since I got my new computer 3 weeks ago and I need to
re-install Microsoft Office and accounting software (Quickbooks)

I use an ISP smtp for sending emails and I don't understand what MAPI is?

Thanks
Nicole

No email client installed
You do not have an e-mail client installed or your e-mail client is not
MAPI-compliant.

Before you can e-mail forms through the Internet, you must have

An Internet connection

If you don't have a connection, contact an Internet service provider to help
you get started and set up with an Internet account. Then choose Internet
Connection Setup from the Help menu in QuickBooks.

An e-mail account

QuickBooks uses your cheque account for e-mail messages. You do not have to
sign up for a new account or pay additional fees.

A MAPI-compliant e-mail client program

MAPI is the e-mail standard that QuickBooks supports. Microsoft Outlook (but
not Outlook Express) and Netscape Communicator are MAPI-compliant.

Microsoft Office Outlook is a MAPI client. Which version of Outlook and
Windows are you using?

I suspect you have Outlook Express

Is the version of Quickbooks that you are using compatible with Outlook
2007? If not, you probably require a later version of Quickbooks.
Also verify if Outlook is set as your default email handler;
Control Panel-> Internet Options-> tab Programs
