We have exchange 2003 with outlok 2003. I have a user that has 2 computers,
one at home and one in the office. This has happened on 1 other occasion.
At home he was viewing his mail and everything was fine. He closed outlook
and then came back later and opened and his inbox was gone. When he came
back to the office, we kept his outlook offline on the office computer and
exported to a .PST file and then connected to exchange. Exchange replicated
and his inbox in the office was empty as well(it synched). We checked the
trash bin and it was empty. I also checked the recently deleted mail in OWA
and there was nothing there. Luckily we were able to recover by importing
the mail back but we are stumped as to what caused the mail to disappear in
the first place.
If anyone has experienced this I would be interested in find out what caused
it. If possible I would like to know if there are any logs that I can review
or if there are any logging features I can enable in order to troubleshoot
this further. Any assistance is appreciated.
