How do I prevent email addresses from getting into my contacts list from
emails sent to me. There must be a simple way that I haven't found yet.
Thanks for any help.

The only way they do that, is if you reply, and have WM configured to
auto-save when you send.

Tools - Options - Send -
uncheck "[ ] Automatically put people I reply to in my Contacts list"

Thanks Dave. Now, how do I "unconfigure" the WM auto-save? I don't recall
ever turning that feature on...........but it must be on, and how do I turn
it off?

Thanks guys but under tools in "Windows Mail" there isn't an "Option" or a
"Send". There is a "Select Recipient" and I'll try that next time.

This is a Help site. Try not to get pushy and too far ahead of your
knowledge when replying. You're both showing the old adage, "a little
knowledge is dangerous". It also shows that not all of us are
wizards.........be helpful, not hateful.

WD,
You were in the wrong window. You were in the window AFTER you clicked
Create Mail.
Go back to the window where you would be looking for in-coming e-mails. Now
click Tools.

You're looking at "Tools" in a message compose window.
Close it.
In the main Windows Mail program window,
click on "Tools"
