email auto responder

Am using a form to collect first, last names, and email address. want to do
an auto responder. my server does use auto responder but following Microsofts
instruction it does not work. send response back to me as the admin. Have
done the following as final step from Microsoft "If your form contains a
field that collects the site visitor's email address, you can use that
address as the sender's address. Next to Reply-to line, select the Form field
name, check box, and then in the Reply-to line box, type the name of the form
field. It does not go to the entered address in the form ? ? How do I fix ? ?

Your web host must configure the server to use this field as auto responder field.

My web host said it was a Microsoft FrontPage problem that they have no
control over the Microsoft FrontPage forms.

They have to configure the auto responder to work with the FP form handler.

If the web host doesn't know how or choose not to do it, your only option is to switch host. The FP
form handler has no means of doing a auto response.

The function of adding a reply to field, is a way for you to use the email address provided by the
person completing the form, so that when you are reading the message in your email application and
you select to reply to sender, the entered email address is available.
