Email Addresses No Longer Automatically Populate To Box

We are using Outlook 2002 on Windows XP SP2. I have several users that
were able to type the first couple of letters of an email address in the To
box when creating an email and have the recipient's entire email address come
up or several that matched the letters typed in the box.
Now for some reason when they try to type the first few letters of
certain recipients their email address no longer comes up automatically like
it did before. Even if they retype the entire address it will not
automatically populate the To Box the next time they try it. What would cause
this to happen and how can I repair it?

On the Tools menu, click Options, click E-mail Options, and then click
Advanced E-mail Options. Under "When sending a message", add a checkmark to
the "Suggest names while completing To, Cc, and Bcc fields" check box.

Outlook completes the e-mail addresses you begin to type

If it used to work and no longer does and you still have the option Hal
describes checked, it could be the result of a corrupt mail profile.
Creating a new one should fix the problem. You may even be able to reuse
the autocompletion list by renaming the NK2 file to match the name of the
new profile.
