When responding to a message I received, the email address in the TO: field
is different from the one in original email. How do I fix this?

Provide sufficient detail so someone can tell what you mean. There is no
information here. Include Outlook version and mail transport type.

Why do you think this is broken? Use Google to look upi the definition of
"reply-to".

Hi,

I am having the same problem. On my outlook 2003, I have my current home
emails (bellsouth smtp) forwarded to me at work (also Outlook 2003 using
exchange server). When I hit the reply button on one of these messages that
got forwarded, it puts an old home charter email address in the To field, not
my current one that it was sent from. Hope that helps. Caching is not
enabled on my work email. I don't know where to find and eradicate the
incorrect reply association. It only happens on the one address, the others
reply to the same address from which they came.
