Email address changed in reply

A friend got a new ISP: (e-mail address removed). When I hit "reply" to respond to
his message, Outlook 2007 changes his e-mail address to: (e-mail address removed).
By adding the extra dot after 'net2' it makes the address invalid and my
message bounces back. I understand from the friend that this happened to
someone else who responded to his message. Why does Outlook add the extra
dot? How can this be avoided other than having to get the correct address
from my contact list when I reply?

Right click on the message you received, select Message Options, scroll
through Internet Headers.

Is (e-mail address removed) listed after Reply-to? If it is, which I'm pretty sure
it is., it isn't your problem, they have their client misconfigured.

You were right -- I checked the headers and the client is misconfigured.
Thanks, I'll let them know!
