email accounts for sending only

Okay, so I have an email address, in this example, I'll use:

(e-mail address removed)

events.com is a website I have that allows me to set up forwarding accounts.

So, my server has a "forwarding" email address for (e-mail address removed).

This address is being forwarded to (e-mail address removed)

Now, when I set up the account for "(e-mail address removed)" in Outlook, I have
it set up as the servers (incoming & outgoing) are the prodigy servers. I
also have it set up to login with the prodigy login information.

But, I don't really want to download the email. I don't want it to use that
incoming server here, since the (e-mail address removed) is being forwarded to
(e-mail address removed). I also have an account in Outlook for (e-mail address removed)
and this is the web account where I want to download the incoming from.

How do I tell Outlook this? BTW, I have Outlook 2002 and a vista system.

Thanks!!

Not sure whether that answers your problem but why don't you get the email at
(e-mail address removed) deleted after it gets forwarded to (e-mail address removed)?

do you mean at my site events.com or in the account in outlook for
(e-mail address removed)?

The email address is only a forwarding email address, that isn't a choice
when you set up a forwarding email address. All you do is create an email
address (through the service that supports my website, my host) & tell it
where to forward any incoming emails. It only forwards, I never login to the
webmail & type responses, because they all go to the prodigy email address.

Then it should all be fine.

Your outlook can try to read messages at your web site, it won't find
anything...
or does it complain it can't access the mailbox?

If you don't want to receive mail from the (e-mail address removed) address, don't
create an account that references those servers. If you want to receive
mail only from (e-mail address removed), then have only that one account.

If you want to be able to SEND from either account, then modify your
send/receive group so that the melissa account doesn't receive.

By the way, you likely will have problems using Outlook 2002 on Vista. Only
Outlook 2003 and 2007 are supported on Vista.

Precisely. I just went in & turned off the "receive" option. in send/receive
options.
We'll see how that goes.

I've chosen your second Option, I do want to send.
And, if this doesn't do it, I guess I'll upgrade my outlook. I think it came
with Express, but I wanted the full Outlook, so we installed it onto the
laptop. Oh well.
It seemed to work fine, up until I needed to make these changes to
streamline my email. I've got too many addresses which require checking &
this does make it easier.
I'll keep you posted as to how it goes.
Thanks.
