Hi,

I'm currently creating a theme through an ELM file.
but when I update the ELM file, how I can reapply it to my my website?
recalculate hyperlinks doesn't works.

does FP 2003 put some information in a cache?

thanks for your guide.

Jerome.

After you have create the them ELM file have you put it in you custom Theme Folder?

For granular editing of the ELM file see

ts a custom theme, put in the user theme folder
the ELM file is correct.
but once I've applyed it, I can't reapply it !
so, I've changes some CSS information in the ELM file, but FP doesn't
reapply the new content.

actually, I must "save as" the theme in a new folder and them I'll change
this new theme, then I can apply this new one.
its long and not beautyfull!!!
any other solution?

Any time you modify a theme, you must save it under a new name, remove the current theme and apply
your new modified theme.

Is there a reason why you aren't using the Customize command within
FrontPage rather than opening the ELM itself? I would recommend never
modifying the ELM directly.

I don't modify the ELM,

I unpack it and repack it. with the script provides on the MS support web
site.
why this?

because I prefer to edit CSS files under Visual Studio (the user interface
is simplier to use : right click on the class to change instead-of a long
scrolling in the list!)
also because I package images on the ELM file

FP applies the theme initially from the .elm file, but used the _themes folder files to the actual theme unless you edit the theme
in FP
- to get it to recognize you .elm edit you need to remove an reapply the theme or save as a new theme name in FP (not just change
the .elm content)

That's the fastest way to clear a theme of all the ~ 30KB of WSS code not needed in any site not running under WSS (-;
- I often edit the ELM to customize a theme and rid it of unused images and styles, thus reduce the overhead for page loads
significantly
