I am trying to take a header and footer off of a document. I'm sure the answer is simple but I can't figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

View | Header and Footer. Select the text in the header and press Delete.
Switch to the footer and do the same.

When in each header/footer, press Ctrl-A and then delete. This will work for
all but the most recent versions of Word.

Thanks but I don't think I was clear in my question. I am able to get rid
of the text, what i am trying to do is get rid of the header and footers
entirely.

If it's Word 2002 or 2003, you can't.

I am having trouble with the same thing but all I really want to do is change the sections so that the numbers go contiuously.

Because most of us who answer questions here do not retain old messages,
unless you include the message you refer to we will not have a clue what you
are talking about - as in this case :(
