Eliminating current desktop background

I've never before had problems changing my desktop background, but recently I
downloaded a wallpaper from the BBC and the darn thing just will not shift!!

I've done all the usual things, including those mentioned on this message
board, but each time I choose a new background it changes for a second, and
then the old one is back again. I've run endless searches to find the pic on
my computer to eliminate it, but to no avail. I have XP Pro.

Help - how do I get rid of it? Also just discovered my new screensaver has
disappeared too. What is going on?

Try this:

Open up Control Panel/Display/Desktop/Customize Desktop../Web/Highlight
offending web page/Delete...go back to Desktop tab and select the desktop
pic that you want.
