-- I recently used F8 to use the startup menu. Now, whenever I power on, I
get
a Real Mode ( text - black & white) menu which asks me:
Boot from CD ROM or Boot from Hard Drive?
( I should mention that it's a Compaq system).
How can I get rid of this text menu? Thanks anyone.

The Devices Boot order is set up in the BIOS. You`ve probably got your
CD\DVD
set as the first boot device.( pressDel ?. to enter BIOS on startup).

It sounds like you have left a bootable cd in the cd-rom check and make sure
you don't have anything in there.

Thanks for the solution Joe. I will pass it on to my client who is
experiencing the problem.
