Effects - Film Format?

I was wondering, is it possible to make my clips/movie look like film format?
Even if it's just slightly. I'm making a music video for one of my songs and
I really don't want the quality of the video to look amaturish. So if it's
possible to make it look even a bit more like film format then that'd be
great.

Also, talking of formats, how would one save one's movie as MPEG or AVI?

Thank you so much in advance! =)

Hey John,

Why does some of my CD moves in Video format and others in Super Video
Format, work on newer DVD desktop sets but on older models, the Super Video
Format will not play ?

Also the play on some PC's but not others. I thought all PC's would play
any format ?

Thanks.

It's not down to the PC, it's down to what software the PC has as to what it
can play/read. The software is kinda like a translator for the PC. So it
depends what software the PC's have to read DVD's etc.

Does this answer your question?

It is purely a compatibility issue and how manufacturers configure their
set-top players, SVCD is a hi-density medium and the menu structure
is termed as "variable", some OEM's omit it just so as to avoid the negative
feedback. (Too complex to detail here).

"I thought all PC's would play any format" -
A PC is just a chunk of Hardware. The all important factors are:
The Operating system - Windows 98/ME/2000/XP etc (Or Linux?)
The Media Player(s)
The codec's
The File format

I'll assume you have a PC with XP preinstalled?
If so, for a PC to be XP compliant and an OEM machine,
It is unheard of these days for such a PC not to be
supplied with a DVD burner?
My advice, as there is now no diff in price between
blank CD and DVD media, stick with DVD....
