"If you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without
bloodshed,if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not
too costly, you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with
all the odds against you and only a small chance of survival. There may
even be a worse case;you may have to fight when there is no hope of
victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves."

It would be a sad testament to the level of culture and learning in these
newsgroups if a visit from such an eminence as yourself went unnoticed. ;-)

I read the reference, and had that generally sinking feeling in the pit of
the stomache that one gets when technology is getting abused by forces one
feels little control over.

Thinking about it--I suppose that this isn't too different than the
situation with regards to a manual or electric typewriter--pages from such a
beast are uniquely identifiable enough to an expert as to be traced and used
in criminal proceedings.

One difference of this mechanism, however, is that it may well be that
others besides criminal evidence experts are able to make use of these
signatures relatively easily--so that whistleblowers, for example, might be
easily identified before they are protected by a court order.

I suspect technology will come to the rescue--someone will create an
"anonymizer" filter for your document that will fuzz or remove such
evidence. And then, of course, posession of such a filter will become
evidence......
