Editing Video and Audio

Is there anyway to add a second video line in the timeline when editting - so
you can transition your video from the main piece with audio - to just some
video of other things over the audio from the main clip - in other words - is
there a way to separate the audio and the video.

Also - I tried to get a piece of video to speed up - but it doesn't show
that way when I play it in the timeline - how come?

In the Timeline view, drag a copy of your main movie into Music track. Then
mute the audio channel of the Video track.
