editing a scaned document

Hi Can someone help me out,I need to scan a document but add some numerical
text to it but I cant quite figure out how.All I get is a read only
document.Help!!
 
You need to install a OCR program. Example:

You can overlay text to a scanned/saved document by using a graphics
program with a text editor. But as Carey states, to edit within a scanned
document you'll need OCR (Optical Character Reader).
