Editing a DVD video

M

mfeiner

I play music with a couple guys on the weekends. Each jam session is recorded
on DVD.
I would like to take one or two scenes on the DVD and save them to a file
format that can be uploaded to YouTube and/or MySpace. I was told by more
than one person that Movie Maker can do that.
I am completely new to Movie Maker so any help you can provide in suggesting
ways to get this done would be greatly appreciated.

I'm using whatever version comes with Vista Home Premium.

Thank you.

First...you must copy the files from the DVD to
a folder on your hard drive. Typically the larger
VOB files are the ones you want.

The following freeware may be useful for
converting to .wmv:

SUPER © Simplified
Universal Player Encoder & Renderer
http://www.videohelp.com/tools/SUPER_1
(the mirror download site is faster)

Then you can import the .wmv into Movie Maker.
