I have a problem with the "Edit with Microsoft Office FrontPage" button in
Internet Explorer not working. There are two specific issues:

1. For some pages in our site, on some machines, the button is either greyed
out, or the drop down list is unavailable and the only editor shown is
Visual Studio .NET 2003. On other machines it works fine.
2. On the troublesome machines, when the button is available, and it is
clicked, FrontPage opens the HTML copy only, not the ASP.NET code of the
page. On other machines, the ASPX code is opened correctly.

All of the users are Domain Admins and have full read/write access to the
folder which the website is stored in on our staging server.

Thanks,
Edward Forgacs

Clear the browser cache files on the machines with the problem.

Hi Edward,

A simple fix that often enables the edit button to work... is to clear all
the temp files in the browsers that are accessing the pages.

I have tried clearing the cache a hundred times over, also cleared the
cookies and history, manually emptied Temp directories, etc. The machines
have been rebooted numerous times. We have been experiencing this problem
for about 2 months now.
