Are the boxes: "Edit" "Source" "Preview" on the Create Mail screen a new
addition to Windows Mail? If so, how are they best used? Thank you, Jerry

No they are not new.
They are mainly used in the creation of Stationery Mail.
To turn them off go to view menu of a new mail window and remove the check
mark.
