Edit mobile phone number field

Hello,
I am creating a data base that the mobile phone numbers for many clients are
numbers outside the USA. How do I edit the number of digits to be inserted
in the mobile number field.

Yes, very basic question I just can't remember where or how to do this.

Thanks to all who may help in advance.
 
By "out of the USA" I further assume that you mean not in North America. If
so I recommend:

1. Make the phone number field Text and at least 30 characters.

2. Remove any input mask or validation rules.

There are just too many variations on phone numbers to try to limit things.
