Have a working system and I pluged in tested ECC memory into it and then
Norton Antivirus came up with error messages when checking incoming emails
for viruses. Does it make sense that Norton Antivirus would have a problem
with
ECC memory?

Your system is having trouble with the memory, and Norton are where they
are showing up. Could have been any program, and other programs might not
reporting their errors. Are you sure your Motherboard supports ECC? Are you
trying to use ECC and non-ECC at the same time? Have you actually tested
your memory on that motherboard using something like memtest86? Norton is
probably just the first program to notice and report errors. Probably not
the only one having them.
