Easy question

Can anyone tell me the command to run a query that would
do the following. In a field I have a long list (Open,
Closed, Waiting, etc, etc).

Is there anyway to run a query that will display all
records that are NOT "closed"?

In the criteria row for the field put
<> "closed"
