easy cd creator hangs up when starting to write

my cd and dvd burners no longer write. easy cd creator
hangs up right after it verifys files and starts to record.
Then operating system locks up and can't be turned off thru
windows. need help bad. I have tried to ninstall and
reinstall to no avail.
