easy cd creator 4

I upgraded my computer for WINDOWS XP, but my easy cd creator doesn't
support XP and now every time that I start my computer this message appears
"A CD-recording driver is installed that might cause stability problems,
including problems shutting down and problems using a CD/DVD drive. This
driver will be disabled.
This driver might have been installed by Easy CD Creator, Windows Media
Player or RealJukebox. You might not be able to record CDs until you obtain
compatible drivers.
How can I fix it ? Because this program come with my new computer and I
won't buy a new version. How can I cancel this message ?
Thanks.

Uninstall v4. As you have found out it is not compatible with XP. If you
don't want to upgrade that is your choice. No one is forcing you. Just do
not complain when the built in basic burning capabilities of XP are not to
your liking

Roxio, the current owners of Easy CD Creator, offer a free tool to uninstall
all versions. Download it and use it.

Then, get some CD software that is XP-compatible and install it.

I can recommend Easy CD Creator 6 (plus patches) or the newer Easy Media
Creator 7.

Others like Nero (6 or higher).

There are also some free CD writing programs. I have not tried them, but
given that you have no useful CD capability with Easy CD 4, what have you
got to lose. Recently I have seen one called CDBurnerXP. Here is a link to
it:

You may be able to get Easy CD Creator 4.05 to work if you do the
following (do the first two steps anyway)

1> Uninstall the present EasyCD Creator, Direct CD and Take Two

2> To tidy up, get a registry patch file, cdgone.reg, from
www.aumha.org/downloads/cdgone.zip, extract it, r-click on it and merge
it into the registry and reboot

That should clear errors and give you a clean sheet to start over.

Now get the download from www.roxio.com to take the version you have to
4.05

3> Install your present version of Easy CD Creator itself *only*. Do
*not* try to install Direct CD or TakeTwo.

4> When that exists, before rebooting, run the upgrade to 4.05 and
reboot. It has a good chance of working

Or get and install some later software - an up to date Easy CD, or Nero,
or Record Now (from www.sonic.com)
