dvd/cd-rw problems

When I upgraded to XP, I uninstalled Roxio 4.1 Easy CD
Creator. There is a knoweldge base article on how to fix
that problem. My CD-RW was spinning contstantly and
hanging up my computer. After modifying the registry that
is no longer an issue, but I no longer have access to my
DVD or CD-RW drives. They are gone !!! Windows will not
recognize them, I don't know what to do next, please
help!!!
