Earthlink Web Mail Issue

Bob Franco

I really hope someone can help me. I have been trying to
solve an issue for over a week and a half. After 8
attempts through my Earthlink Service Provider, I am
turning to this network of experts. The issue is I cannot
read any text on my Earthlink Web Mail Home Page. This has
been the case since the recent "Upgrade" of that page on
that service. This is the only page the problem occurs on.
I am able to browse other webpages normally. Even the
Earthlink.Net page has no issue. I've deleted cookies,
temp files, history, reset settings, repaired Internet
Explorer, upgraded and installed Explorer and Netscape
Navigator, rebooted each time -- nothing has worked. I
can "click on" e-mails, but I cannot see who is sending
them, what they are about or any of my folder information.
Oh, and the few things that do appear have a very wierd
font (almost the old "courier style"). I assume there is
a possibility that there is a conflict with Internet
Explorer and Earthlink Web Mail, but Earthlink support
does not have an answer. I believe something in the new
web Mail application is not being read by my browsers. To
log on, I go into Earthlink web Mail, enter my e-mail
address and password -- this takes me to a home page (this
is what is blank). Occasionally some text appears but
eventually the screen goes blank after a few activities.
Anyway, this has become a very cumbersome issue. If
someone has any ideas, please let me know.

I don't have any answer for you, just some possible hints to investigate. I
too, have had various problems with my Earthlink pages, both before and
after the new page rollout and have traced some of the problems to my Norton
firewall. I've finally reinstalled XP Home and disabled Ad Blocking. In my
case, it seems Norton was seeing my pages as ads but uninstalling Norton
didn't alleviate the situation, only reinstalling XP worked. I received NO
help from Norton when I contacted them, nor could Earthlink provide any help
(of course, it IS hard to troubleshoot problems when the techs are offshore
and barely understand English. I'm beginning to feel that boycotting
companies that have gone offshore with their support units may be something
to consider.) I still cannot get into my Web Mail since the new page
rollout, but I can access it through other computers so I don't miss it too
badly. I really do feel Norton firewall is the problem but have not pursued
it further.

Hopefully, some of the Pro's here have better solutions..............
