I wish I could help you, Cindy. But I got the same problem since today! I

says: "An unknown error occured" and ask communities for help!

I have the same problem with a mail stuck in "Outbox" in the french version
of Vista.
Can't delete it, and it seems it is blocking my outgoing emails !

Are you sure it is blocking your outgoing emails?
I also have a stuck message in my Outbox, and although I get an
error message, new outgoing emails do get sent out.

I had the same problem, and thought all outgoing emails were blocked. But
they were blocked only if I try to send them with the stuck email ( by "send
every email" ) If I wrote an email, or reply , and send it right away, it was
sent.
Always answer "no" when you are proposed to send emails remaining in the
outbox.

If your WinMail can't send any messages, then it is useless to you.
Use an alternative like web mail, Outlook, or Thunderbird.
Hopefully Microsoft will come out with a fix for WinMail soon.

Can I remind everyone that the topic Cindy started was about an (spam) email
that is stuck in the INBOX and NOT the Outbox??? I do not know if there is a
difference but I for instance can send and receive email. It is just very
annoying to have an email that you DO NOT want gets stuck in your Inbox!!!

I do hope Microsoft will have a fix for this problem!

Unfortunately it is rather common around here for threads to get
hijacked. I gave up trying to correct people about that practice.

Go with the flow and live longer.

same here. i have an email stuck in my outbox and it's blocking me from
sending mails. so far i had to reinstall vista more than 4 times, i have so
many problems. the comp will turn off when ever it wants. i've never lost so
much data... not in 19 years of having pc's.

dear reader. if you are thinking of buying vista... wait! it's not worth it
yet.!

By reading the posts , I think it is typical for vista, especially using
outlook express, I had the same problem mentioned today among others that I
have posted, as slow reply windows , etc. And the ability to send folder
group emails like you could with outlook and XP has been taken away too.
Windows Mail stinks , but I getting use to vista.

Overall, I personally have only positive experiences with Vista (Home
Premium)! My computer performs much better, is a lot quicker than with XP
Home and is just stable. Only one little prob, one I don't think is a typical
Vista or Windows Mail problem! I also mailed Microsoft about the email that
is stuck in my Inbox. Hopefully someone will know!

I had one of those undeletables with the "unknown error" message just a few
minutes ago after just installing the Vista upgrade yesterday - saw a comment
on a Judy having a solution - read it and freaked:{
What a lot of work - so this mail was in a folder of mail that I save - made
a new folder for the mail in this folder moved them all to the new folder and
deleted the folder with the bad email in it - I have mine set so the delete
folder empties when I close the program - closed the program - opened it back
up - no more bad mail

So far I think I have read many, many posts re "an unknown error has
occured", and as many answers. Two things seem in common; new Dell
computers, and E=mails that are not deletable. . .seems to me Windows Mail
has a problem that should be universally corrected, by them not us. . .

It has nothing to do with Dell computers. Dell happens to be a
very popular brand. My only occurrence of a stuck email
happened on a HP laptop.
