I have XP 2000. When I want to reply to or send a new e-
mail the spell check is blocked. I do not know how to
activate it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Um there's no such thing as "XP 2000" It's either Outlook 2000 or Outlook
XP.
Do you have Word installed?

There is no operating system called XP 2000. Are you running
Windows XP or Windows 2000?

First of all, what E-mail program are you running? Second, what
does "the spell check is blocked" mean? Please describe exactly
what happens when you try to use it, including the verbatim text
of any error message you get.

Also read the text below, which may help if you're running
Outlook or Outlook Express:

Neither Windows XP, nor any other version of Windows, has ever
come with a Spell Checking facility. Outlook Express uses the
spell checker that comes with Microsoft Word, (or another
Microsoft Office program) if you have it installed.

If you don't have Word or Office installed, you probably don't
have a spell checker. However there are several downloadable
freeware/shareware alternative spell checkers that work with
Outlook Express and Outlook. Since I have no personal experience
with any of these, I'll let someone else recommend one.

On the other hand, if a Microsoft Office component *is*
installed, try the instructions at
http://michaelstevenstech.com/spellcheck.htm

I'm not sure what version of outlook you're using still, you've not
clarified, but you may want to try this:
From Outlook, do this:
1. Go to Tools | Options
2. Click the "Mail Format" tab from the Options window
3. In the Message format part of the window, check the box next to : "Use
Microsoft Word to edit e-mail messages"

Hope that helps!

If you are using Windows Outlook Express for your e-mail and don't have
"Spell Check", click the link below and download it for free. After you do,
it will appear on the toolbar where spell check is grayed out. Works great
and is safe.
