I have been trying to send an e-mail, my first from Vista, for an hour or so
but I can't seem to get the protocal right. My Inbound protocal seemed OK
but the errors keep stopping my messages. The current one reads: "Your
server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this
include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity.
Subject 'Fw: Emailing: 053, 054, 055, 056, 059', Account: 'pop.sprynet.com',
Server: 'smtpauth.earthlink.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No,
Error Number: 0x800CCC0F" My ISP is Earthlink.

Hi Johnh

I had the exact problem that you did with the same error message. I also
have an earthlink account. The problem was solved when I set up the account
using these directions
http://kb.earthlink.net/case.asp?s=st=244,e=0000000001735486142,k=6899,sxi=19&article=192059
On the internet mail logon screen:
email username: (e-mail address removed)
Windows mail will default to simply "johndoe" in this field. Enter the
whole email address including the domain. That solved the problem for me.

Thank you! It was useful bit I had to eventually use the ISP Chat room to
solve the problem
