Look at the headers (Ctrl+F3), which should tell you in the 'Content-Type'
header which character set is being used.

The Character set used is ISO 8859-1. What do I do now and where do I find
this character set?

That's a pretty standard "Latin-1" character set. It should not be showing
you a bunch of garbage characters.

When you did the Ctrl+F3, were you able to scroll down and read what was
in the body of the message?

Perhaps the sender made a mistake. Can you clarify it with the sender?
