With my new HP pavilion 563w, which has Windows XP, when I
attach a .dst file, the recipient receives it as a text
file. It is not a text file. It is an embroidery design
(for an embroidery machine). I have no problem sending
this type of file on my old computer, which has Windows
98. I have compared my Internet Explorer settings on the
two and they are the same so I assume the problem is
related to Windows XP.
FYI, I have tried sending one of these files to myself
using my new computer and using my old computer. It gets
converted to a text file on the new computer but does not
(it works right) on the old computer. FYI, I use Yahoo e-
mail and I do not use OE.

I've seen Yahoo do this before (where XP is not at all involved). Try
zipping the file and attaching it that way; that usually makes Yahoo treat
it as a binary rather than as a text file.
