Dynamic disk problem?

Under XP MCE, I set up a new drive as a 320G dynamic disk. Under RC2
Ultimate edition (installed on a different drive than both the dynamic disk
and XP) the dynamic drive works fine. I just loaded RTM Home Premium edition
over Ultimate as a new install. Now the dynamic disk shows in disk manager,
but it is shown as Offline. Help says to rightclick on the drive and choose
'Reactivate'. That is not an option on this computer. rebooting to XP shows
the drive as fine.

Surely Home Premium can handle dynamics disks, since it is an upgrade from
MCE, where the disk was created, right?

Any ideas?

After further research, I found that Home Basic and Home Premium do NOT
handle dynamic disks. Just for grins, I ran Vista Upgrade Advisor on the XP
side of this computer. It suggested Home Premium was the right choice for
me, and gave me no warning about the dynamic disk. Microsoft may want to
update that before a whole lot of people start upgrading from MCE to Home
premium...

Confirmed. Removed Home Premium, installed Ultimate, and the dynamic disk
works fine...

Nice... I've just finished upgrading to Vista Home Premium only to discover
the exact same thing. I have 320GB of data I can't access. I wonder if this
post can be made a "Sticky" or something as I've seen at least 5 other posts
from people with the same problem. Good pick up Ned
