dxdllreg.exe showing up at boot

When I boot or re-boot, I get a Quickview window
displaying the file dxdllreg.exe.

What is this file all about, and why is it showing up
when I reboot. I recently downloaded some Windows Update
files, and this is happening ever since.

I have no idea what this file is associated with, and
whether I should simply delete it from the Startup
configuration via MSCONFIG.

Is there something else that needs to be re-configured
for this file to stop displaying?
