No, your point seemed to be that AV scanning software is capable of
being perfect. If you think this, then you clearly don't understand how
this relates to the halting problem. It has been proven logically that
perfection is impossible with regard to certain kinds of programs.

A complex computer program like a scanner is not a toaster.

Who said anything about one backing up the other? Having other opinions
from other scanners helps 'you' to sort out FP detections. Many people
run their computers without ANY active AV and do so safely.
