Hello.
I had this problem a while back and thought i had solved it by changing the
jumper settings on the back of the DVD Rewriter. However, because i don't
use it that often, i think it may have just been a fluke at the time and it
hasn't been working at all.
What is happening is, when i put in a DVD the DVD whirs round and the little
green 'read' light on the front of the DVD comes on and flashes. But it
stays flashing for ages, as if it can't read the DVD (DVD is not scratched,
and it does the same for other DVDs, i.e. it is not a Media problem). When i
click on the drive i get an error message saying unavailable. However it
reads CD's fine !.
When i reboot, however, it works perfectly ok !. I am just a bit fed up of
having to reboot each time i want to use the DVD Writer.
I am using WinXP Pro, Athlon 2200+ (1800GHz), 620Ram, ARTEC DVD+/- ReWriter.
Please help !
