I have a Sony DRX 500ULX which can create multiple format DVD disc
(DVD+/-R, DVD+/RW). I just created a DVD+RW data disc. But it cannot
be read by a DVD drive on another computer and can only be read by the
500ULX. Is this normal?

If I want to share my data with other computers, what DVD format should
I use?

Hello, Golden Eagle:

DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW are very similar, in their respective compatibilities
with newer models of both DVD-ROM's and stand-alone DVD players; DVD-R/RW still
enjoys a slight edge, at the moment. The brand (or, more specifically, the true
manufacturer) of the media is a significantly greater factor, concerning the
"burners" (DVD or CD), themselves. Drives can be quite "picky" about the discs
that they'll write to, successfully.

The DVD-ROM in your other PC could be the real problem, however. It may be
incapable of reading DVD+RW's, especially if it's an older model.

Good luck!

Cordially,
