Why would a DVD-ROM drive suddenly stop reading inserted disks? No
recent driver changes, etc. Playing game that was installed from this
drive. Other drive is DVD burner set as master. This drive set as slave.
Can't even FIND a setting for autorun or autoplay. Re-inserting disk
has no effect. Any suggestions? ;-Deano

That happened to me, just don't use your disk drive for a
while. Don't even open it. I did that and now it works
better than before. But I did leave mine for over a few
months.

lol
Do that if you want to go without it for months.
Before that however try cleaning hte lenses with a quality disk cleaner made
for DVD drives.
As far as Autoplay goes.
Open "My Computer" and right click on the DVD drive.
Click Properties then the "Autoplay" tab
From thee you can select which program to open depending on the disk type
inserted.
