DVD Rom - Disabled

My DVD ROM is suddenly showing as disabled (code 22)I
have requested XP to re-enable it but it can't - If I put
a cd into the drive and manualy start play mode (by the
button on the fromt of the unit)music plays clearly - any
ideas.
