I haven't downloaded Movie Maker yet. I want to rip files from a DVD to my hard drive. The files are not copy-protected they are my home movies that I had tranferred to DVD. I want to send them as e-mail attachments. Will movie maker allow me to do this?

You'll have to ensure that the ripped files are in AVI format, but after
that WMM will be able to edit them.

The only thing you should be careful of is that normal email attachments are
limited to 1mb in size. Video files are LARGE.... 12gb = 1 hour. Therefore
it might be best to mail the recipients the files on CD or DVD.

You will only be able to send a minute or two in AVI format, though you can
also save in WMV format, with the resultant loss of resolution, and make the
file a lot smaller.
